A body washed ashore on Pedras Negras beach, in the municipality of Marinha Grande (Leiria), the captain of the Port of Nazaré, João Lourenço, told the Lusa news agency today.

According toJoãoLourenço, the alert was given by a fisherman at 6am, who informed the Maritime Police.

“The body appears to have been in the water for a long time, given the advanced state of decomposition,” said the local Maritime Police commander.

The Judicial Police went to the scene.
