Two men, aged 20 and 26, have been named as suspects by the Public Security Police (PSP) following an altercation in Valongo on Tuesday night.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the PSP detailed that they received a call around 9:30 p.m. reporting a disturbance on Rua Dom Pedro IV.
Upon arrival, authorities found “several individuals injured and tensions running high.”
The statement clarified, “It was determined that moments earlier, a disorder involved several individuals, and the PSP identified three men, aged between 47 and 58, who were victims of physical assaults and attacks with bladed weapons.”
PSP gathered from the victims and witnesses that the suspects had fled the scene, seeking refuge in a nearby residence.
At that residence, the security force observed and identified two men, aged 20 and 26, suspected of committing bodily harm against the identified victims.
Within the premises, “10 bladed weapons, a corkscrew, a wooden bat wrapped in fabric with three screws were seized, these items were in the possession of the suspects and were intended to be used in the brawl,” the statement added.
At the Valongo police station, “the suspects were named as defendants” and were legally processed with a statement of identity and residence before being released.
