Brazilian Capitual chooses Portugal to install a technology center for its European operation

Throughout the year, Capitual expects to hire between 60 and 100 qualified professionals in Portugal. However, within three years, the projection is to have around 400 people in Portugal.

“We are setting up our structure in Europe and we will enter through Portugal, which we chose as a base to be our point of expansion,” says the CEO of Capitual, Guilherme Nunes, in statements to Dinheiro Vivo. The choice of Portugal to install the technology hub was due to the language and also the current perception that the country is “attractive to technology companies.

Throughout the year, Capitual expects to hire between 60 and 100 qualified professionals in Portugal. However, within three years, the expectation is to have around 400 people in Portugal, “helping our operation as a whole in Europe,” explains the Brazilian manager. The company is mainly looking for software engineers, professionals for customer support and for the legal team.

Although focused on the realization of Capitual’s first office in Portugal, which will be located in Lisbon, the CEO admits the intention of taking the company to other regions of the country in the future. The Oporto region will be in the medium and long term plans.

After Portugal, the plans for European expansion include Luxembourg and Italy.
