“The drugs were destined for international trafficking, packed in large pressed blocks, and were scheduled to be shipped on a flight to Lisbon, Portugal, with the final destination being Madrid, Spain,” stated the Federal Police in a release.
The drugs were discovered at the Cargo Terminal of Confins International Airport (CNF) as part of an operation initiated using information from the Risk Analysis Team at Guarulhos Airport (GRU) in São Paulo. This information enabled the teams to locate the suspicious cargo, authorities emphasized.
“The drugs were identified within the cargo with the assistance of K9 Teams (sniffer dogs), which located the substance during the inspection,” the Federal Police detailed, without specifying if any suspects were apprehended during the operation.
