The cultural series Jejum will take place from April to October at Rua das Gaivotas 6, as announced by the organizer Coletivo Casa Amarela. The line-up features performances by artists such as Doroteia with Hocus and Tiago Biscaia, Carga Aérea, Bride, emme, Mats Erlandsson, and Vanessa Amara.

The inaugural concert is scheduled for April 9, featuring Doroteia, Hocus, and Tiago Biscaia. Coletivo Casa Amarela invited these three emerging artists in the noise genre to collaborate on a “unique performance.”

On May 21, the stage will host Carga Aérea (Francisco Marujo), noted as a prominent figure in Portuguese ambient music. Carga Aérea is expected to release a new album soon, following the 2019 release of “Transumância.”

On June 11, the series will include Bride (Esme Rebora), who is known for creating “dissonant and aggressive imagery” and engaging in a constant dialogue between terror and chaos. This will mark Bride’s first live performance in Portugal.

emme, performing on July 2, will also debut on Portuguese stages, presenting “a brutal yet beautiful fusion of screamed vocals with intricate and dystopian soundscapes,” merging elements of emo, noise, hardcore aesthetics with the elegance of modern dance and avant-garde performance art.

The September 3 performance will feature Mats Erlandsson, a composer and sound artist integral to Stockholm’s drone scene, alongside Maria W Horn and the XKatedral label. This will be his first performance in Portugal.

The Swedish artist’s work is distinguished by the use of sustained sounds, incorporating guitar feedback, modular electronics, or field recordings.

The series will conclude on October 1 with the Danish duo Vanessa Amara, who released their album ‘Café Life’ in January.

Jejum first took place in 2021, the result of a collaboration between Coletivo Casa Amarela and the venue Rua das Gaivotas 6. Last year, events extended beyond Lisbon to include performances in Castelo Branco and Montemor-o-Novo.
