
“Due to the national union action scheduled for Wednesday, November 26, in which employees from the security and assistance service provider company will participate, Brussels Airport anticipates significant disruptions in airport operations on that day,” announced the main international airport of Belgium, located in Zaventem, 12 kilometers from the capital Brussels, on its website.
After discussions with airlines, the logistics operator decided “not to operate passenger departures on November 26,” additionally foreseeing that “some arrival flights may also be canceled.”
The mobilization organized in the preceding days will not impact airport operations.
On Sunday, November 23, unions will organize a “day of action” against violence toward women.
On November 24 and 25, unions plan to halt, respectively, transportation and public services, to progressively increase pressure leading up to the national strike on the 26th against the government, which aims to reform the social security system and is considering freezing the automatic indexation of wages, among other deficit-reducing measures.
