Moving to housing, Alexandra Leitão states that the goal of a 20% increase in homes in the capital is a “long-term strategy,” meaning it extends beyond a single term.
In this regard, the candidate says that “municipal construction should be accelerated in places like the Restelo project, the Marvila project, and Tapada das Necessidades.” She adds that “in the last four years, not a single home was built in the western part of the city.”
Regarding the construction of new homes, Leitão states she aims for 4,500 within a single term.
The candidate also considered that “there is an absurd amount of vacant properties,” suggesting these should be renovated and put on the market. Leitão also advocated for partnerships with private entities in this sector.
