Alexandra Leitão, lead candidate for the PS/Livre/BE/PAN coalition for the Lisbon City Council, has called for “timely responses” regarding the accident involving the Elevador da Glória, which has resulted in 16 fatalities so far.
In an interview with SIC Notícias, the socialist made it clear that, given the current data, she is not calling for the resignation of the current mayor: “I am not asking for Carlos Moedas’s resignation, unlike what he did in 2021 regarding Fernando Medina when he said ‘technical errors must have political consequences.’ With the moderation for which I am known, I am not calling for his resignation.”
