
The Portuguese Navy’s training ship, Sagres, docked in Viana do Castelo this Friday as part of the Navy Day 2025 celebrations.
The sailing ship will be open for visits from May 14 to May 18, with visiting hours from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, as confirmed by the Navy.
“Apart from visiting the Sagres training ship, from May 15 onwards, visitors can also participate in diving baptisms, sea baptisms, among other activities,” the organization highlighted.
The activities are free of charge, and entry will be based on a first-come, first-served basis, with no prior booking required.
The Sagres training ship is commanded by Commander José Sousa Luís and has a crew comprising 85 military personnel, 37 cadets, and one officer from the Naval School.
