Cabo Verde recorded a year-on-year inflation of 2.2% in March

The 12-month average inflation rate in Cape Verde showed minimal movement, rising by 0.1 percentage points in March to reach 1.6%.

The inflation graph had been on a downward trend since January 2023, when it peaked at 8%. However, January 2025 marked the first shift in this trend.

The core inflation indicator, which excludes energy and unprocessed food items, recorded an annual change of 2.1% in March, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the rate observed in February.

Cape Verde experienced an annual inflation rate (12-month average) of 1% in 2024, a reduction of 2.7 percentage points compared to 2023, aligning with major macroeconomic forecasts.
