Canceled bad weather warnings from the Funchal captaincy for Madeira

Weather warnings from the Funchal harbor master's office for Madeira have been canceled

Despite the cancellation, the port authority recommends “that vessel owners and operators take necessary precautions to ensure proper navigability conditions.”

It is stated that “conditions for circulation on port protection breakwaters, cliffs, beaches, or natural pools should be ensured, as well as safety conditions for recreational fishing, especially near cliffs and rocky areas.”

According to ANA – Airports of Portugal’s website, after Madeira airport was restricted on Thursday, the movement of landings and takeoffs is now proceeding normally.

The Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has placed all areas of Madeira under an orange warning due to hot weather, while a yellow warning is in effect for Porto Santo Island.

The orange warning, the second most severe on a three-level scale, is issued for “moderate to high-risk weather situations,” while the yellow warning is issued when there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on weather conditions.

The orange warning is in effect until 9:00 PM on Sunday, with IPMA forecasting temperatures to range between 23 and 31 degrees Celsius in Funchal over the next few days.
