Hotels in Cape Verde welcomed 325,000 guests in the first quarter of this year, reflecting a 7.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024, as reported by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) last week.
Two-thirds of transactions with foreign cards were made at point of sale terminals, showing a 27% growth, while the remainder were cash withdrawals, which increased by 5%.
Furthermore, figures from the Bank of Cape Verde (BCV) reveal that transactions with local cards (Vinti4 network) decreased by 6% year-on-year, amounting to 415 million euros.
