
The Cultural Center, established about a year ago at the former Adega Cooperativa de Paredes, has unveiled a diverse lineup for the upcoming months. The program features theater performances, comedy, dance, and various artistic events. These will take place across three venues: the Grand Auditorium, with a seating capacity for 512, the Small Auditorium accommodating 300 standing attendees, and the Paredes Arena with a capacity for 3,000 standing spectators.
During the program’s announcement on Tuesday, it was revealed that the CCP plans to open a café-concert and a restaurant by 2026.
The schedule begins on January 17 with the comedy “Amigos da Treta,” written by Filipe Homem Fonseca, Mário Botequilha, and Rui Cardoso Martins, starring José Pedro Gomes and Aldo Lima. This will be followed by the puppet show “Duas Casas” by Imaginar do Gigante on January 26 and 27.
The month concludes with a concert by rapper Capicua on January 31.
On February 6, Cais do Sodré Funk Connection will perform, followed by singer-songwriter Carolina Deslandes on February 14 and fado singer Carminho on February 21.
The first dance performance of 2026 at the CCP is slated for February 28, featuring “Neve, Paisagens, Máquinas e Animais,” by choreographer and dancer Né Barros.
March kicks off on the 7th with a performance by the band D.A.M.A, consisting of Francisco M. Pereira (Kasha), Miguel Coimbra, and Miguel Cristovinho, at 10:00 PM in the Arena.
On March 10, 11, and 12, the project “A Música dá Trabalho” will host events aiming to introduce school audiences to the entire process of a music show, from setup to breakdown, including sound checks and performances.
On March 14, the Barcelona Flamenco Ballet presents a new interpretation of Bizet’s “Carmen,” and on March 21, the Company of the Corner Theater will perform John Steinbeck’s play “Pérola.”
From March 23 to 25, the play “Não se pode! Não se pode!” will be staged as part of the Boca Aberta project by the National Theater D. Maria II, targeting schools and families.
March concludes with a concert by Dino D’Santiago at 10:00 PM on the 28th.
In April, The Amy Winehouse Band, celebrating the music and legacy of Amy Winehouse under the leadership of longtime friend and musical director Dale Davis, will perform at 5:00 PM on April 12.
Theater for schools and families will feature “Pássaros e Cogumelos” by pianist Joana Gama on April 19 and 20.
May’s schedule starts on the 9th at 10:00 PM with a concert by musician Carlão, followed by the play “A Cor do Limão” by Andante Teatro on the 12th, and a concert “Parents House” by pianist Rui Massena on the 16th at 10:00 PM.
From May 19 to 24, the national meeting of PANOS — new stages, new words — will be organized by the National Theater D. Maria II in collaboration with the Cultural Center of Paredes.
PANOS is a theater project aimed at youth aged 12 to 19, promoting a cycle of reading, creating, presenting, observing, and valuing theater, bridging the gap between the creation and reception of staged readings.
The six shows featured in the PANOS Festival are selected by a jury who monitors the process from workshop to premiere in each city.
June begins with the Bernardo Sassetti Jazz Festival on the 6th and 7th, a traveling project that connects audiences, musicians, teachers, and students, followed by the theater production “Baião D’Oxigénio” by João Baião on the 13th.
The dance show “Baobás” by Grupo Impacto, which has been fostering young artistic talents in Viçosa, Brazil for over 25 years, will take place on June 20.
On June 27, the play “O Lar É” by Ricardo Falcão will be staged as part of an artistic residency, with “Crash Babies,” a show for infants and families, the following day.
Concerts by the Orquestra do Alto Minho are scheduled for July 31 and August 1.
