The access ramp from the A5 to the 25 de Abril Bridge in Lisbon is closed following a car fire on Sunday, authorities have confirmed.
The incident occurred on the A5, in the Cascais-Lisbon direction, at around 10:45 a.m., and by 11:50 a.m., the fire was in the mopping-up phase.
Onsite are 16 members of the Lisbon Fire Brigade, supported by four vehicles, along with elements from the Traffic Division of the Public Security Police (PSP) and the Forest Police.
In a statement issued later in the morning, Brisa also notified that “the access ramp from the A5 to the 25 de Abril Bridge is closed due to an incident.”
“BCR – Brisa Concessão Rodoviária, S.A. appreciates the cooperation and understanding of the users of this route,” the statement added.
The fire reached an area of vegetation on the roadside but has been extinguished. No injuries have been reported.
