The president of the Viseu City Council, João Azevedo, stated that all elements are in place for an unforgettable year-end celebration, regardless of weather conditions.
“We prove once again to be a destination of excellence, especially at this time, offering diversity, quality, and free events for all those who live in and visit the municipality,” emphasized the socialist mayor.
If weather conditions prevent outdoor festivities, these will be moved (in whole or in part) to the Viseu Multiusos venue (located at Campo de Viriato).
The musical lineup, “of quality, in Portuguese, and for all ages,” is headlined by Carlão and also features Grupo TZ Music and the DJ duo Os Piratas.
The founder of the Portuguese band Da Weasel will perform after the fireworks show marking the New Year’s Eve, with Grupo TZ Music entertaining the audience up until the countdown.
The party will continue into the night, with the DJ duo Os Piratas performing after Carlão.
According to the city council, “New Year’s Eve in Viseu is not just about music,” and a Food Court offering a variety of gastronomic options will be set up on site.
There is also consideration of opening the Dining District to complement the night’s offerings, ensuring dinner services by reservation,” it was added.
