
After the installation of the Lisbon Metropolitan Council, Carlos Moedas (PSD) presented a unified list for voting, comprising himself and the mayors of Vila Franca de Xira and Palmela, Paulo Ferreira (PS) and Ana Teresa Vicente (CDU), respectively.
The vote, conducted through a secret, nominal, and weighted ballot at the headquarters of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, involved the 18 municipalities that constitute this territory.
The list was approved with 16 votes in favor and no votes against or null.
The newly elected officials will serve in the upcoming quadrennial term from 2025 to 2029.
The Metropolitan Council serves as the deliberative body of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, according to the statute of inter-municipal entities.
It consists of the mayors of the 18 municipalities within the metropolitan area (Alcochete, Almada, Amadora, Barreiro, Cascais, Lisbon, Loures, Mafra, Moita, Montijo, Odivelas, Oeiras, Palmela, Seixal, Sesimbra, Setúbal, Sintra, and Vila Franca de Xira).
