Carminho among guests on Rosalía’s new album ‘Lux’

The announcement of the new album began with a social media post, followed by presentations in physical locations such as New York and Madrid. In Madrid, the artist was present and had to walk to the venue due to traffic, as shown in videos on social media and reports by the Spanish press.

A statement released today by Sony Music reveals that “the album was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daníel Bjarnason and features female voices like Carminho, Björk, Estrella Morente, Silvia Pérez Cruz, the Escolania de Montserrat, the Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música Catalana, Yahritza, and Yves Tumor.”

Split into four movements, ‘Lux’ comprises 18 tracks, according to the disclosed list, which does not specify which guest participates in each song.

Rosalía, aged 33, released her previous album, ‘Motomami’, in 2022, which earned her the Grammy for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album, a prize she previously won with her debut album, ‘El Mal Querer’, in 2019.

Fado singer Carminho recently released the album ‘Vou Morrer de Amor ou Resistir’ and is currently performing in the United States, where she commenced a six-date tour on the 16th.

Today, the Portuguese singer performs in New York, on Wednesday in Chicago, on Friday in Danbury, before concluding the concert series in Philadelphia on the 27th.
