“Is the Prime Minister available to discuss in Parliament the depoliticization of leadership positions in the Public Administration? I am available, we are available,” declared José Luís Carneiro during the debate of the XXV Constitutional Government Program at the Assembly of the Republic.
In his speech, the candidate for the PS general secretary once again criticized the PSD/CDS-PP executive for proposing measures related to the National Health Service (SNS) and labor law revisions that were not included in their electoral program or campaign.
José Luís Carneiro also criticized the PSD/CDS-PP executive’s decision to “extract proposals from other parties’ programs and insert those proposals into their Government’s program without a single word with the other opposition parties,” commenting: “That is not dialogue, that is plagiarism.”
“Prime Minister, you haven’t started on the right foot,” considered the former Minister of Internal Administration.
The candidate for the PS general secretary stated that his party will not be “the support of the Government” in Parliament, but rather “a responsible, firm, constructive, and alternative opposition bench,” open to convergences.
