During a welcoming event for new members of the PS held today at Largo de Rato, Lisbon, José Luís Carneiro addressed the media regarding President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’s proposal for a political agreement concerning the roles of SNS, the social sector, and the private sector in healthcare.
“From what I understood of the statement, the President has made it more apparent that the Government has failed in its health policy,” Carneiro asserted.
The PS leader indicated that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa seems to affirm the opposition’s claims that “the Government has failed and is incapable of meeting the needs.”
Regarding the proposed political agreement, Carneiro expressed his intention to “listen attentively to the President’s words” and promised to give a “more extensive and thorough response” after consulting with his colleagues.
