
A solidarity motion was introduced at the public session of the Castelo Branco City Council by João Belém, councilor from the PSD/CDS/PPM party, with support from the president, socialist councilors, and members of the Sempre – Independent Movement.
“In these alert times, it is crucial to remember that everyone’s safety relies on individual responsibility and collective solidarity. Therefore, we wish to commend and express the deepest gratitude for the tireless work of firefighters who daily risk their lives for the community,” the document stated.
The motion’s signatories also highlighted the courage, dedication, and sense of mission of the firefighters, describing them as the highest example of commitment to the common good and a source of national pride.
In this context, they offered their gratitude and respect to all firefighters and their families and reiterated their commitment to “continue supporting and valuing the essential role they play in protecting people, property, and nature.”
