The National Republican Guard (GNR) seized over 800 counterfeit items in the locality of Alvor, within the municipality of Portimão, last Thursday.
In a statement released this Sunday, the Faro Territorial Command reported that the seizure occurred during a patrol operation in the area.
The GNR officers identified “a street vendor in possession of 808 counterfeit items for sale, which displayed logos and images of various registered brands in the market, particularly clothing, footwear, and fashion accessories.”
The items were confiscated, and the 56-year-old man was named as a suspect in the case.
The incident has been referred to the Judicial Court of Portimão.
The National Republican Guard emphasizes that “the primary aim of such operations is to ensure compliance with industrial property rights, primarily targeting the fight against counterfeiting, illegal use of a brand, and the sale of counterfeit goods.”
