
An event is scheduled to take place at the official residence of the Prime Minister in São Bento on Wednesday at 1 p.m. to honor Aníbal Cavaco Silva on the 40th anniversary of his inauguration as Prime Minister.
The current government members will participate, with speeches expected from Luís Montenegro and Cavaco Silva.
Approximately half an hour later, a photographic exhibition by Rui Ochôa titled “Aníbal Cavaco Silva: a decade in images – The Prime Minister who transformed Portugal” is set to be inaugurated.
This exhibition will be open to the public on weekends for a month at the Prime Minister’s official residence.
Aníbal Cavaco Silva served as Prime Minister for ten years, from 1985 to 1995, achieving two absolute majorities in legislative elections.
His governments included prominent figures such as Luís Marques Mendes, Eduardo Catroga, Durão Barroso, Luís Mira Amaral, and Manuela Ferreira Leite.
He served as President of the Republic from 2006 to 2016.
