ATAC further extended “wishes for a speedy and complete recovery to all those injured, hoping for their swift recuperation.”
According to the communiqué, the accident involved the 1918 Évora-Montes Juntos bus line.
The collision occurred on Friday at 18:00 on National Road 256 near São Manços, in the municipality of Évora, resulting in two fatalities and five injuries, three of which are serious, authorities disclosed.
A GNR source indicated to the Lusa agency that one fatality was a one-year-old baby, transported in critical condition to Évora hospital, where death was later pronounced.
The other fatality was the driver of one of the passenger cars, aged 22, they added.
The Central Alentejo Emergency and Civil Protection Sub-Regional Command also reported transporting three seriously injured individuals and two with minor injuries to Évora hospital.
The two passengers with minor injuries were from the bus, they added.
