Carlos César addressed the media during the traditional descent of Chiado, in Lisbon, which brings together leaders from all parties forming the coalition Viver Lisboa (PS/Livre/BE/PAN), led by socialist Alexandra Leitão.
“I am very hopeful about these elections because throughout this year, the PS sought to select the best candidates to become the best choice and recover from the results and the electoral decline we experienced in the last legislative elections,” he stated.
According to Carlos César, “the last elections were like a tsunami, destroying PS structures.”
“Some remained, and others have been rebuilt, and now what we will see in this campaign and these elections is how many have been rebuilt, and we estimate many,” he emphasized.
The “most important” warning for the PS president is that at this time in “many municipalities across the country,” socialist victory “depends on very few votes, one percentage point, two percentage points.”
“This means that to defeat the AD, it is crucial to concentrate votes on the lists where the PS is, and not to waste votes, whether on the PCP or other parties,” he urged.
Without this concentration of votes on the socialists, according to César, the “results may not be the best.”
“And we cannot complain the next day,” he stated.
