Chega candidate criticizes “hybrid parties, which no one understands what they are”

The Chega party caravan concluded the fifth day of its legislative election campaign with a dinner-rally in the municipality of Guimarães, Braga district, revisiting the same venue as last year.

During his speech, Filipe Melo emphasized the party’s goal to “remove the worst in politics from Braga,” targeting BE, CDU, and Livre, predicting these political forces will again fail to elect deputies in this constituency.

“This district does not accept Louçãs, does not accept extremisms, does not accept old men of Restelo who do nothing to enhance this country, quite the contrary. It is a guarantee we leave here in Guimarães, Francisco Louçã and his company will not enter that parliament through the Braga district,” he declared.

The Chega deputy also criticized “those hybrid parties, which nobody understands what they are, claiming to be right-wing in some matters and left-wing in others, supporting those LGBT’s and those strange things, and descending the Avenida da Liberdade, on April 25, hand in hand with the Mortáguas.”

“These people have no place in parliament, and Rui Rocha will not enter parliament for Braga,” he stated, echoing the sentiments earlier expressed by the party leader, André Ventura.

Filipe Melo argued that “these second-rate parties cannot be among the greats.”

The top candidate for Chega in Braga also committed to the “arduous task” of “ending socialism,” which he claims “has two names, PS and PSD.”

“It is a promise I make to our president, sooner rather than later, we will surpass them,” he proclaimed.

In the last legislative elections of March last year, Chega elected four deputies in Braga, including Filipe Melo.

The candidate set a goal to “have more” deputies from this district.

“We are going to rise, it is our conviction,” he declared before an audience of about 400 supporters.

Highlighting that “every vote counts,” the leading candidate urged voters to bring “friends, family, the dog, the cat, the parakeet” to the polls on the 18th.

“If PS brings the dead to vote, why shouldn’t we bring animals? We must bring everyone to vote, and we will win,” he asserted.
