Chega will ask for the Finance Minister and the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs to be heard in the Budget and Finance Committee, to explain the measures to reduce personal income tax, the party announced today.

“Chega will use its parliamentary power to call the Minister of Finance to the Budget and Finance Committee on the first day, as well as the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs, to effectively explain to the country what the IRS cut is that is proposed for next year, what scope it will have and what its impact on Portuguese families will be,” the party’s president, André Ventura, announced today.

Speaking to journalists at a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Lisbon, André Ventura explained that the decision came after he learned that the Socialist Party was going to schedule an urgent debate in the Portuguese Parliament.
