
The event proclaimed as “the world’s largest Afrobeats festival” is set for its 5th edition with a lineup featuring over 30 artists across two stages on the sands of Praia da Rocha.
On the opening day, the main stage will host performances by Chris Brown, Davido, Tiakola Gabzy, Rionsia, and Qing Madi. Meanwhile, the second stage will feature Dbn Gogo, Mörda, Nkosazana Daughter, and KMAT.
The second day of Afro Nation will see the debut performance in Portugal of Mary J. Blige, a pivotal figure in hip-hop soul and R&B with a career spanning over 35 years.
In addition to Mary J. Blige, artists such as Tens, Franglish, Odeal, Amaarae, Naza, and June Freedom will also grace the main stage.
The second stage lineup for the second day includes Uncle Waffles, Lee McKrazy with Scotts Maphuma, Felo Le Tee, Shakes & Les, and The Therapist.
Afro Nation will culminate with a performance by Burna Boy, returning for his fourth appearance after performing in 2019, 2022, and 2023. Joining him on the main stage are Booba, Dexta Deps, Joé Dwèt Filé, and Innos’B.
The second stage will host Scorpion Kings, Young Stunna, Vigro Deep, Oskido, and Rosey Gold.
In its inaugural year in 2019, Afro Nation attracted over 25,000 attendees primarily from the United Kingdom. Last year, the number grew to approximately 40,000.
The festival was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Entry to the festival is restricted to individuals over 18 years old, with identification required to verify age as stated on the festival’s website.
Tickets for Afro Nation are priced at 349 euros for a three-day pass and 137 euros for a single-day ticket.
