The railway service on the Beira Baixa Line, between Fratel and Ródão, has been restored after a shutdown caused by a brush fire in Vila Velha do Ródão, in the Castelo Branco District.
This update was provided by CP – Comboios de Portugal in a social media post at 11:20 PM.
A representative from the Civil Protection indicated that the fire alert was issued at 6:03 PM, and the proximity to the railway led to its closure as a precautionary measure.
Fifteen personnel and five vehicles from the Vila Velha do Ródão Volunteer Firefighters, GNR, and CP were dispatched to the scene.
