The event, bringing together musicians, students, and enthusiasts, aims to celebrate both tradition and innovation in music for this instrument. Its varied program features concerts by national guitarists, masterclasses, artistic integration and training activities, a workshop, and an introductory session.
Portuguese guitarist Pedro Rodrigues is set to headline the festival’s opening concert. The lineup also includes a performance by the duo ViolãoCello, a unique blend of guitar and cello sounds.
Among the event’s highlights is a ‘Soundpainting’ workshop, conducted by Maestro Paulo Neto. This session invites musicians from various fields and is open to all instrumental classes. Additionally, an introductory session for a guitar ensemble, led by guitarist Paulo Rodrigues, targets a younger audience.
“This event will serve as a convergence point for learning and growth for the local community and its visitors. It offers a unique opportunity for young talents and professional artists to connect, explore new possibilities, and showcase their work in an environment of musical excellence,” stated the Cantanhede City Council in a note sent to the Lusa agency.
