“It was annulled as the regulatory formalities required for public transmission, as well as the previously announced date and time, were not met,” clarified the city council, referring to the draw of the 29th Accessible Rent Program (PRA) contest, held on Monday, instead of the scheduled Tuesday.
Subsequently, the Housing Councilor, Filipa Roseta (PSD), ordered the initiation of “an internal investigation to ascertain the facts and any responsibilities,” stating that the findings of this investigation will be made public, “thus ensuring transparency of the entire process, as a factor of credibility for the practice followed until now.”
Following the annulment of the draw, conducted inadvertently on Monday due to “technical reasons,” according to information provided by the city council to candidates of the 29th PRA contest, “a new procedure will be conducted, with the public draw to take place on June 27th at 3:30 pm, involving the same pool of applicants.”
Consulted by the Lusa agency, the ‘online’ platform Habitar Lisboa, which allows for the registration of residents’ interest in accessing the city’s housing programs, submission and management of their applications, and communication with the services where applications are processed, reports that the 29th PRA contest, with 133 homes, recorded a total of 7,362 applications.
Despite the situation with the annulled draw, the ‘online’ platform Habitar Lisboa is operational, and the draw for the 30th PRA contest, assigning 17 homes to individuals with mobility challenges, was held today.
Regarding the 29th PRA contest, the application process ran from 3:00 pm on May 21st to 5:00 pm on June 16th, featuring 133 homes of typologies T0 to T3, primarily located in the Marvila parish, but also in Arroios, Olivais, Carnide, and Alvalade.
Applications for the contest were conducted via the ‘online’ platform Habitar Lisboa, where interested parties can access detailed information about the properties, including location, plans, and the presence or absence of architectural barriers, the city council noted.
Of the 133 homes in the contest, 121 are located in the Marvila parish, “in buildings that began construction in the current mandate [2021-2025], on Rua Dr. José Espírito Santo and Rua João José Cochofel,” revealed the city council.
The remaining 12 homes are situated “in buildings belonging to the dispersed municipal heritage throughout the city,” namely in Arroios, Olivais, Carnide, and Alvalade.
