The free event, previously held in September and October, has already attracted around a thousand participants. It is organized by the Coimbra City Council (CMC) in collaboration with the University of Coimbra (UC), Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra, Instituto Pedro Nunes, and iParque, as noted by the city council in a press release.
The program, unveiled today, will continue focusing on sectors such as technology, health, and space, with tourism being added to the mix, the organization announced. They emphasized that this edition will offer “more and better conditions for exhibitors.”
The event will feature a business merit recognition gala, honoring 212 companies from Coimbra and will host the 1st Meeting of the Coimbra Ambassadors’ Network, which includes 25 individuals associated with the city, where new ambassadors will be introduced.
This initiative will include panels discussing the impact of the international context on business, business scaling strategies, and featuring representatives from multinational companies that have invested in Coimbra.
The Coimbra Invest Summit, sponsored by the Presidency of the Republic, will also welcome a delegation from the Halle technology park, a German city twinned with Coimbra, as well as one from the Portugal Ireland Business Network.
According to the Coimbra City Council, the third edition emphasizes “promoting gender parity in debate panels,” with women making up 40% of the speakers.
José Manuel Silva, the president of the CMC, highlighted in the press release that the investment in the Coimbra Invest Summit increased from 51,000 euros in 2023 to 91,000 euros this edition.
