
An alert was issued at 4:24 PM for an accident that occurred on EN 118 in Marinhais, Salvaterra de Magos, according to a source from the Lezíria do Tejo Emergency and Civil Protection Sub-Regional Command.
The collision resulted in four serious injuries, including two civilians and two INEM crew members, who were transported to Santarém hospital.
The INEM ambulance, associated with the Volunteer Firefighters of Salvaterra de Magos, was on an urgent mission to attend to an incident in Glória do Ribatejo, in the same municipality, to assist a 91-year-old woman, a source from the firefighters’ department told Lusa.
The scene was attended by personnel from the Salvaterra de Magos, Benavente, and Almeirim fire brigades, Infrastructure of Portugal, and the GNR, totaling 25 individuals supported by ten vehicles.
