A significant traffic accident took place at kilometer 50 of the EN245 between Sousel and Fronteira, as reported by the Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command. The incident was alerted at 08:00.
Among the seriously injured were two women, both aged 21, who were traveling in the vehicle involved in the accident.
The injured parties were transported by firefighting services to the emergency department at Portalegre hospital. It was noted that the truck involved in the accident was transporting olive oil.
Emergency response operations were conducted by the Sousel Fire Department, the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM), and the National Republican Guard (GNR). A total of 17 personnel participated, supported by eight vehicles, including the Immediate Life Support ambulance from Estremoz.
