A collision involving a truck and a car resulted in one fatality and one minor injury in Grândola, Setúbal district, on Thursday.
The Litoral Alentejano Sub-regional Command stated that the death was declared at the scene, and the injured individual, a 49-year-old man, was hospitalized. The collision occurred on the Complementary Route 1 (IC1) with the alert being issued at 5:36 PM.
Reports indicate that the deceased was a 53-year-old driver of the car. The collision happened when the car violently crashed into the truck traveling ahead of it.
Seventeen members of the Grândola Fire Department were present at the scene, along with resources from INEM, GNR, and Infraestruturas de Portugal. The road where the accident occurred was closed to traffic, with circulation restored by around 10 PM.
