A serious traffic accident on the IC 2 near Leiria resulted in significant injuries, according to the GNR. The victims include a 47-year-old man, a 32-year-old man, and a 30-year-old woman, all of whom suffered severe injuries.
The alert was issued at 1:11 PM, with the incident leading to a temporary closure of the IC 2 in both directions, which was reopened at 2:40 PM.
Luís Santos, the deputy commander of the Porto de Mós Fire Department, reported that the collision occurred at kilometer 109. The crash involved a vehicle driven by a man and another vehicle occupied by a couple and their one-year-old child, all of whom were injured.
All individuals involved in the frontal collision have been transported to Leiria Hospital, as confirmed by Luís Santos.
The National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection’s website confirms that 28 operatives and 11 vehicles responded to the incident.
