A motorcycle collision with a passenger vehicle occurred at 11:00 AM in the Hortas area of Monte Gordo, in Vila Real de Santo António, Faro district, as reported by the Regional Command of the Algarve of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection.
The accident resulted in severe injuries to the 65-year-old motorcyclist.
Due to the severity of the injuries, a helicopter from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) was dispatched to transport the motorcyclist to a hospital.
The causes of the accident remain unknown and are currently under investigation by police authorities.
The rescue operation included 21 civil protection personnel, supported by six vehicles and one aerial unit.
