Comedy ‘Choices’ returns to Villaret from September 17

After its debut on February 20 this year and running until June 26, ‘Escolhas’ will head to Teatro Sá da Bandeira in Porto, with performances scheduled from October 31 to November 6, announced the show’s production company.

Miguel, described as a “shy and indecisive man,” works at his brother-in-law’s jewelry store and has “a steady girlfriend,” is at the heart of the story.

Despite having “a musical talent never pursued beyond a dream” and “living on autopilot,” Miguel faces the “unexpected” when, on his birthday, “his first love, whom he hasn’t seen in years,” walks through the jewelry store’s door.

From that moment on, Miguel embarks on “a journey of uncertainties that leads him to entrust the power of decision regarding his choices to the audience,” particularly in “love, work, friendship, and family,” questioning which path to follow, yet convinced that “destiny is in his hands,” states the production company.

Directed and with lighting design by Marco Medeiros, the interactive comedy where the audience “are the main deciders,” according to the producers, features performances by Ana Brito e Cunha, Hugo Mestre Amaro, José Pedro Vasconcelos, Madalena Brandão, and Vasco Pereira Coutinho.

The show includes set and costume design by Rui Lopes and was written by the French duo Sébastien Azzopardi and Sacha Danino.

In Lisbon, ‘Escolhas’ will have sessions from Wednesday to Saturday at 9:00 PM, and on Sunday at 6:00 PM, while in Porto, performances will be on Friday and Saturday at 9:00 PM, and on Sunday at 4:00 PM.
