Commerce closes from 1 pm on Saturday near the Sporting stadium.

The municipality has issued an order similar to the previous directive affecting around 60 commercial establishments near Marquês de Pombal, mandating closures at 5:00 PM. This new directive restricts the operating hours of establishments within the perimeter of the Estádio de Alvalade.

As outlined in the document, this order follows a request from the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP, received via email on Thursday. This request pertains to the Sporting/Vitória SC match and potential championship celebrations, necessitating the reduction of commercial operating hours.

The restricted hours will be from 1:00 PM on Saturday until 7:00 AM on Sunday for establishments located within a security perimeter established by law enforcement, encompassing 17 establishments across five zones.

Regarding the limitation on the operating hours of food trucks on Francisco Stromp and António Stromp streets, the responsibility of issuing licenses lies with the Lumiar Parish Council. The PSP has been tasked with notifying the council, despite the request being shared by the Lisbon City Council.

The Lisbon Municipal Police is tasked with notifying the 17 affected establishments and ensuring compliance with the order.

Following last weekend’s Lisbon derby result, crucial matches on the final day of the I Liga are scheduled for next Saturday, May 17, at 6:00 PM. These matches – Sporting vs. Vitória de Guimarães and Sporting de Braga vs. Benfica – will determine the championship title, the Portuguese football league announced on Sunday.

Traditionally, fans from both Benfica and Sporting gather at the Marquês de Pombal roundabout and surrounding areas to celebrate their championship victories.
