Companies created reach 49,512 by the end of November (and break record)

“With one month left until the end of the year, the country is approximately 2,500 new companies away from setting a historic record in company creation,” a statement released today reads.

More than half of the sectors saw an increase in company creation, with real estate activities rising by 22%, an additional 1,109 companies, followed by business services with a gain of 5.4%, or 434 more companies.

The transport sector has been recording the largest decline for over a year, with a 22% drop, equating to 975 fewer companies. Similarly, retail saw a decline of 7.3%, representing 318 fewer companies, and general services decreased by 6%, with 113 fewer companies.

Insolvencies decreased by 2.9%, with 1,856 companies beginning insolvency proceedings from January to the end of November this year, 55 fewer than in the same period last year.

The decline in insolvencies occurred in only three sectors, primarily concentrated in the textile and fashion industries.

Nevertheless, the textile and fashion industries registered the highest number of insolvencies during this period, with 202 insolvencies from January to November 2025.

By the end of November, 11,004 companies closed nationwide, maintaining a downward trend compared to the same period last year.

The barometer data were obtained through the publication of corporate acts on the Ministry of Justice’s Citius portal until November 30, 2025.
