“Following the announcements published on September 27 and 28, 2025, Impresa confirms that negotiations are still ongoing with the MFE group, although as of today, there is no binding agreement between the parties,” according to the statement.
The group that owns SIC and Expresso indicated that “although the final terms of the agreement are still under discussion, it is clarified that the object of the negotiations is currently limited to subscribing for a minority stake, not exceeding 33% of the share capital, by an entity of the MFE group, through a capital increase in Impresa.”
This confirmation follows a report by Jornal de Negócios, published this Tuesday, which stated that MFE – MediaForEurope would inject up to 30 million euros to acquire a 33% shareholder position.
Last Friday, October 31, the CMVM ordered the suspension of Impresa’s shares, awaiting the release of relevant market information, after reports that the Italians of MFE were expected to enter the owner of SIC by the end of the year.
In addition to SIC and Expresso, the Impresa group owns SIC Radical, SIC Mulher, SIC Caras, K SIC, SIC Novelas, SIC Internacional, SIC Esperança, Blitz, and the streaming platform Opto, among other brands.
The Italian group MFE’s majority shareholder is Fininvest, controlled by the family of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, and it aims to become the leading TV and media operator in Europe.
