An official source from Impresa states that the letter to employees is independent of any events or news published today, serving solely as communication between the CEO and staff.
“Over the past few weeks, much has been written and spoken about the possibility, which we communicated to the CMVM, of having a new reference shareholder in Impresa,” states Francisco Pedro Balsemão in his first internal letter as CEO following the death of his father and the group’s founder.
“As you know, our doors have always been open to partners that bring us value, similar to several moments since Impresa’s creation,” and “on this matter, despite some of our competitors appearing concerned about this possibility, and parts of the press continuously spreading ‘fake news’, I reiterate that any relevant information will be communicated through formal channels,” added the CEO of SIC and Expresso.
Above all, “as I previously wrote to you, Impresa’s future depends, first and foremost, on each of us. Together, we can steer the ship to safe harbor. With the opportunities and challenges we face, it’s necessary to work with a sense of urgency. As Francisco Pinto Balsemão would say: action!” emphasizes Francisco Pedro Balsemão in the letter, recalling the “unprecedented tribute” to Francisco Pinto Balsemão in the last 10 days.
“The country united to celebrate his history, values, and contribution to democracy and freedom. By honoring Francisco Pinto Balsemão, it also recognized the legacy he left us. And the legacy includes all of us, who work, daily, with pride, at Grupo Impresa, as was evident in the moving farewell at our premises on the afternoon of October 23,” the manager adds.
He further highlights: “The freedom, independence, and rigor we inherited and are obligated to protect make us more prepared for what lies ahead. This is what distinguishes us. The success of Expresso, SIC, and the other brands, platforms, and companies of the Group will continue to respect our founder’s vision.”
Yet, “as he always said, the way forward is forward” and “our success will continue to be based on achieving the strategic objectives we have outlined,” he says.
“Moreover, and equally if not more importantly, to reach our goals, the commitment of everyone around the Impresa project is necessary. The unity we demonstrated these days is evidence that, together, we can build a future that honors our history,” he emphasized, concluding: “I count on all of you, as always, and you can continue to count on me and my family.”
