Argentine multi-instrumentalist and composer Gustavo Santaolalla, winner of two Oscars, will perform in Porto in September as part of a tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of the album “Ronroco”, promoter Uguru announced today.
The concert, which marks the start of the tour, is scheduled for September 26 at Casa da Música, the promoter added in a statement released today.
The show in Porto is part of the 25th anniversary tour of “Ronroco”, Santaolalla’s “iconic album that opened the doors to cinema and Hollywood, revealing to the world an unparalleled talent for musical composition and production”.
As well as songs from “Ronroco”, the concerts on the tour will include “emblematic compositions by the Argentinian, the themes that appear in the video games ‘The Last of Us’ and its series, and classics from soundtracks such as ‘The Book of Life’ and ‘Freak Power: The Ballot of the Bomb’, among others”.
Gustavo Santaolalla made his debut creating soundtracks in 2000, at the invitation of director Alejandro González Iñárritu, for the film “Amores Perros”.
In 2005, Santaolalla won his first Oscar for Best Soundtrack for his work on Ang Lee’s “The Secret of Brokeback Moutain”.
The following year, the second, with the soundtrack for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “Babel”.
Gustavo Santaolalla’s other awards include two Grammys, 19 Latin Grammys, two Baftas and a Golden Globe.
Tickets for the concert in Porto cost between 32 and 80 euros and are on sale now.
