Three individuals were injured in the early hours of Thursday following an altercation near the NB nightclub on Rua Venâncio Rodrigues in Coimbra.
A group was involved in physical confrontations resulting in three injuries, with one victim sustaining gunshot wounds to the foot and left leg.
The alleged shooter was ultimately intercepted and detained during a road inspection operation, with the firearm being recovered from beneath a parked vehicle.
The injured were transported to the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra (CHUC).
Local newspaper reports indicate that the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Rua Castro Matoso, which was temporarily closed to traffic for official procedures.
The same source disclosed that the three injured parties include the shooter, a man, and a law enforcement officer.
Contact was made with the Comando Distrital de Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) of Coimbra for further details about the case, which are still pending.
On the scene, in addition to the PSP, were the Instituto Nacional de Emergência Médica (INEM) and the Polícia Judiciária (PJ), which is investigating the incident.
