In comparison with March, the indicator increased by 1.7% in the euro area and 1.4% in the EU, according to the European statistics service.
Among the Member States for which data is available, the largest year-on-year increases in construction production were recorded in Spain (14.7%), Bulgaria (7.0%), and Belgium (6.6%).
The most significant declines compared to April 2024 were observed in Slovenia (-5.9%), Poland (-4.3%), and Slovakia (-2.1%).
In month-on-month comparison, the largest monthly rises in construction production were recorded in Hungary (5.3%), Spain (4.3%), and Slovenia (4.0%), while the most significant decreases were noted in the Czech Republic (-5.0%), Denmark (-0.9%), and Poland (-0.8%).
In Portugal, the indicator advanced by 0.3% year-on-year in April and by 3.5% compared to March.
