The construction production increased by 3.2% in the euro area and 3.6% in the European Union (EU) in July, compared to the same month in 2024, as reported by Eurostat.
In comparison to the previous month, the indicator rose by 0.5% in the euro area and 0.6% in the EU, with Portugal registering the third-largest decline compared to June (-1.5%).
According to the European statistical service, among the member states, Romania (41.1%), Spain (22.8%), and Slovenia (21.4%) recorded the most significant year-on-year increases in construction production.
Conversely, the largest declines were observed in Sweden (-4.5%), Austria (-2.7%), and Germany (-1.2%).
In Portugal, the indicator rose by 3.3% compared to the previous year.
Comparing with June, the largest growths in July were recorded in Romania (20.1%), Slovenia (9.9%), and Belgium (2.2%), while the main declines occurred in Spain (-4.5%), Sweden (-4.0%), and Portugal (-1.5%).
