
A recent estimate published by the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission indicates that, in July, the consumer confidence indicator recorded a slight increase, rising by 0.3 percentage points in the European Union and 0.6 percentage points in the eurozone.
“With figures at -14.5 percentage points in the EU and -14.7 percentage points in the eurozone, consumer confidence remains significantly below its long-term average,” state the community executive’s services.
These data are released monthly by the European Commission and are based on surveys conducted with consumers.
The consumer confidence indicator is calculated based on survey data from EU consumers, covering expenditures and private final consumption.
