The latest findings from the “Inquéritos de Conjuntura às Empresas e aos Consumidores” by the Instituto Nacional de Estatística (INE) reveal that the consumer confidence index was positively influenced by optimistic perspectives on the future financial situation of households, the country’s economic conditions, and major family purchases.
Conversely, opinions regarding the past financial situation of households contributed negatively.
The economic climate index stabilized in July, halting the upward trend observed over the previous three months. Confidence indicators decreased in the services and construction sectors, while increasing in the manufacturing and trade sectors.
