The Chief of Staff of the Army, General Eduardo Mendes Ferrão, was awarded the Fe en la Causa medal during a three-day visit to Colombia. The medal was presented by the Commander of the Colombian National Army, General Luis Emilio Cardozo Santamaría.
“This decoration, awarded by the Colombian National Army, honors military and civilian individuals who demonstrate a high level of institutional commitment, loyalty, merit, and significant contribution to the mission and the strengthening of cooperative ties,” states a note from the Portuguese Army sent to Notícias ao Minuto.
This visit, which took place from November 5 to 7, was part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the Portuguese Army and the Colombian National Army.
“During the visit, the Portuguese delegation engaged with the Command of Education and Doctrine of the Army, the Army Doctrine Center, the Special Forces Division, and the Tolemaida Military Fort, where various operational capabilities were presented,” details the note from the Army, explaining that “these interactions identified areas of common interest in doctrine, training, special operations, and capability development, aiming for the deepening of technical-military cooperation.”
This branch of the Portuguese Armed Forces further states that the visit “reaffirms the Portuguese Army’s commitment to consolidating strategic partnerships, promoting interoperability with allied and partner forces, and contributing to the strengthening of international security.”
