A man, 60 years, Castelo Branco, is missing since Saturday morning after falling into the irrigation canal Couço, Coruche county. The alert was given at 10:45 am, and the victim did not avoid the fall after trying to save his dog, an animal that had fallen, precisely, to that watercourse.
While the man was then carried away by the current and was never seen again, the canine was rescued after the arrival of the National Republican Guard at the scene. The rescue forces were on the scene to try to find the victim but no evidence was found. The search continues this Sunday.
