A couple and their two young children were left homeless today as a result of a fire at their residence in Vendas Novas, Évora district, reported the local fire brigade commander, Paulo Machado.
The alert for the fire, which occurred on Avenida 25 de Abril, was received at 9:29 PM, as confirmed by the Alentejo Central Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
“The house is uninhabitable,” with no injuries reported, and the family of four will be temporarily accommodated with relatives, stated the command source.
Eleven operational firefighters from Vendas Novas and the GNR, supported by four vehicles, were dispatched to the scene.
